WA Experts Sustainability & Climate Action Plan
We believe exploring Western Australia should leave you with memories – not a massive footprint. As a local 4WD camper hire business, we know our vehicles have an impact. That’s why we’re committed to reducing emissions, respecting country, and encouraging a more sustainable way to travel.
This isn’t corporate fluff – it’s practical stuff we’re already doing, plus where we’re heading next.
What We’re Already Doing
Efficient Vehicles, Fewer Emissions
Our fleet includes Toyota LandCruisers, Hiluxes and Troopcarriers—built for the bush, and built to last. We prioritise newer diesel models with upgraded suspension and tyres, meaning better fuel economy and less waste over time.
Solar-Powered Setups
Most campers are fitted with rooftop solar panels and dual battery systems. That means fridges, lights and devices stay powered, without the need for generators or campground hookups.
Self-Sufficient, Low-Impact Travel
- Long-range fuel tanks and onboard water storage reduce unnecessary refuelling stops
- Rooftop tents and walk-in campers limit the need to set up camp on delicate ground
- Recovery gear included to reduce track damage and vehicle strain
Less waste, more savings, and a healthier environment
Reuse Bays at WA Experts
We’ve set up dedicated Reuse Bays at our depots where guests can leave non-perishable food, sauces, cooking items, and reusable bits like hand towels or storage containers that would otherwise go to waste.
Before each hire, our team checks and sorts these items. The result?
- Incoming travellers save up to $30 in grocery costs
- 10–15 items per trip get a second life
- Less waste goes to landfill
It’s a simple system that works—and travellers love it. One less trip to the shops, one more step toward a more sustainable adventure.
No Single-Use Plastics
We supply reusable gear, like crockery, cutlery, and containers.
Respect for Country
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands we travel through. We provide travellers with info on local customs, national park permits, and how to leave places better than you found them.
What We’re Working Towards
Emissions Tracking & Offsetting
We’ve partnered with Carbon Neutral to offset the emissions from our 4WD fleet. They’re one of Australia’s most respected carbon solutions providers, with regeneration and biodiversity projects right here in WA.
We’re also actively tracking our average fuel usage across trips, so we can better understand our impact, and reduce it over time.
Transitioning to Lower-Impact Vehicles
We’re gradually upgrading our fleet to newer diesel models that are more fuel-efficient and better suited to long-distance touring.
These vehicles are built tough, with improved suspension, lighter setups, and smart configurations that help reduce fuel use—without compromising on performance or safety in remote areas.
Our Road Ahead
Adventure and sustainability aren’t opposites. With the right tools, knowledge and respect, we believe travellers can explore WA’s wild beauty and help preserve it.
This plan will evolve as we grow – because responsibility, like travel is a journey.
